The Virahep-C Model predicts severe liver fibrosis and was
developed based on a sample of treatment naïve African American
and Caucasian American participants in the Virahep-C study who
had chronic hepatitis C virus infection with genotype 1. The
model uses including age, race, AST, platelet count, and
alkaline phosphatase.
The accuracy of the Virahep-C model to predict the presence or
absence of severe liver fibrosis was assessed using various
cut-off values
